Lodge St. George is welcoming Bro. Moises Gomez, the Right Worshipful Grand Historian of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey to Bermuda. We are honoured to have him provide a lecture to the Brethren in attendance at the Annual Composite Meeting of the Scottish Constitution Lodges of Bermuda on April 19, 2016. He will be speaking on Remembrance: A 9/11 Experience – Volunteerism and the American Spirit.
Bro. Moises is a 26 year veteran of the Port Authority’s Emergency Service Unit and was among the first responders at the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. We invite all Brethren to join us as we listen to his unforgettable account of of the heroism and hope that transcended the barbaric attacks of that day.
We will be producing a souvenir Masonic Token to celebrate the Bi Centennial as well as a Masonic Jewel. They are being put together as we speak by our friends at Millennium Mark in the UK. Photos and prices to come shortly.
All proceeds from sales as well as the Golf Tournament, will go to The Old State House Preservation Society (Registered Charity #576) to do some necessary work on the building as well as donations to the Bermuda Shrine Club to do good work at the Children’s ward at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital here in Bermuda
We are hoping to have a large number of visitors from Lodges around the world in attendance at Peppercorn 2016. We will be honoured by an official visit of the Most Worshipful the Grand Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Scotland as well as other Masonic dignitaries.
We are expecting groups from the United States, Canada, England, Scotland and the Bahamas. We hope that groups will attend from other jurisdictions as well and that all will be able to wear their own individual Masonic regalia. It’s going to be quite a show!!
Peppercorn 2016 the 200 year anniversary of the payment of our one Peppercorn rent will take place on Wednesday April 20th 2016 on Kings Square, Town of St George, Bermuda.
We are planning a week of Masonic events to commemorate the Bi-Centennial. Book a week off work and come to Bermuda to help us celebrate.
